We don't always get the medical care we deserve. Especially if you're Black or Brown, or Queer.

Part of what makes that possible is an imbalance of information between clinicians (docs, nurses, midwives) and their patients or clients. It would be great if we could always trust  those folks to share that information, but the data shows that doesn't always happen.

But why is it so hard to find this information anyway?

I'm Dr. A. I'm a Black OBGYN and I've talked to too many friends and cousins who are up late at night trying to find out their own diagnosis, or figure out if they got the right treatment. I'm here to make it a little easier to find the information you need.

Think of me as your translator. I share clinical guidelines so you don’t have to wonder if you have everything you need to make an informed decision. And I pull back the curtain on my experiences in medicine, showing you what happens behind the scenes of the exam room.

I write about: - clinical guidelines so you never have to wonder if you have everything you need to make an informed choice. - health equity, shared decision making - following the road less travelled. A doc, not your doc. Posts ≠ medical advice
